The festivities began at 9 am and lasted until approximately 12:30 pm. This event provides individuals with disabilities an opportunity to collect treats in a barrier-free environment that is safe and fun for all. The event is open to schools and groups that serve individuals with disabilities of all. Families with individuals with disabilities are welcome to register to come Trick-or-Treat.
Trick-or-Treaters each receive a bag and have the opportunity to collect treats while meeting some of their favorite literary characters. Treats are distributed by area businesses and organizations. All of the festivities are FREE. You are welcome to bring lunch to eat at Medieval Times.
Space is limited and registration is required.
Event Resources:
This event relies on the generosity of businesses to hand out treats and provide hands-on experiences for attendees. If your business can’t attend but would still like to support the event, you can note that in the form. Space is limited and registration is required.
There is no charge to be a Trick-or-Treat Sponsor. The only cost will be the treats, toys, or favors that you will provide for the Trick-or-Treaters.
1. Be assigned your own tabletop area that you will be responsible for decorating festively.
2. All of your volunteers should dress up (as their favorite literary character or other festive costumed attire) to pass out candy/favors to kids.
3. Have the opportunity to bring your business mascot or costumed character for this event.
• Keep in mind when purchasing candy to choose brands that are individually wrapped (no chewing gum or chewy candy)
• You can also bring savory snacks individually wrapped (like Gold Fish, Animal Crackers, or Pirate’s Booty).
• This link has some samples of sensory-friendly items. If purchasing toys, please make sure there are no small parts that could potentially be harmful.
• Coloring books, books, or educational items are welcome.
Not available to participate in-person but still want to contribute? We greatly appreciate donations from our Amazon wishlist or monetary donations. Funds received will be used toward purchasing treats that are allergen free and meet the dietary restrictions of the Trick-or-Treaters at this event and they assist with purchasing sensory-friendly items.
